The Edwards’ Fantastic Chiropractic Story!

by Chiropractors Brighton on March 26, 2009

16012009758I booked myself in at Chiropractic Life following occasional back and hip complaints since giving birth (9yrs ago) and more recent aches and twinges since becoming a full time gardener.

After a little research I decided that Chiropractic was the way forward. In the past Anti-inflammatories prescribed by the G.P had only eased my discomfort temporarily and if I was to return to tablets I was sure that I’d end up with more problems than I started with (and probably wouldn’t be able to continue work as a gardener either)!!

My examination and X-rays with Helen concluded that I had subluxations in my neck, upper and lower back and my hips. Also, the x-ray showed that I have Spina Bifida Occulta – a very ‘insignificant’ form of s.b – which had been undiagnosed for 31yrs (despite x-rays and hospital visits for foot problems as a child)! For me this was a massive shock but bizarrely a welcome shock as it explained why, as a child, I had terrible bladder and bowel control and still now as an adult I had little/no control over my left foot/toes and muscle wastage in my left leg!!

After beginning treatment and learning more about chiropractics and it’s amazing, holistic benefits I knew that it would be able to help my daughter Ellen and my partner Sam.

Helen noticed that Ellen had signs of Spina bifida occulta too. Ellen has always had poor bowel control!! Again i was sooooo pleased that I now knew why!! Following her intensive treatment for her bowels and her other minor subluxations, Ellen no longer has ‘accidents’. She also loves going for adjustments and is now really aware of her body and what steps she needs to take to remain balanced. (which is greatly due to Helen’s explicit teaching).

Sam had been suffering from various back complaints due the nature of his job and had also been finding it difficult to fall asleep and to remain asleep!! This, obviously, in the long run had an effect on other parts of his life. Sam was found to have a reverse curve of the neck and some other minor subluxations. Sam now sleeps very well indeed and rarely has any other aches!!

My treatment is also going very well and I am beginning to have increased sensation in my left foot….after 31 years!!!! And also have more control over my toes!! After each of my adjustments I feel like running home…it’s great how alive it makes you feel. I feel like i’m part of a special club….but i don’t want to keep it a secret….I tell everybody about chiro!!

Of course initially we were really worried about how we would pay for 3 courses of intensive treatment. We have a low household income and already struggled with bills. But with a little forethought and a few changes it has been surprisingly easy! We plan the weeks meals in advance, which means we buy only what we need and consequentially spend less time in the dastardly shop!! Outings to coffee shops and pubs have ceased (well nearly)! And have been replaced with nights/time in at home with friends and family. Everybody brings a bottle and a plate of food and we enjoy a good gossip, ‘Guitar Hero’ battles, Monopoly, Cluedo, card games……. etc!!

I think the most important thing to remember is that we have made changes…NOT sacrifices. For each of us Chiropractic has highlighted that our health is more important than anything else we can buy with our hard earned cash!

This is so fabulous and very touching and first I must say how delighted I am that Chiropractic has brought so many benefits into your lives and I can assure you there are/will be many more benefits you have not yet connected with such as in regard to your immune function and prevention of disease, clariity of thought into old age, stabilised hormones etc etc. You are such an amazing advanced family and we honour your committment.
