I have suffered with slowly progressive Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years and I had difficulty moving my limbs freely and my balance was very poor. I also had pins and needles in both hands. My posture was slumped and I also had lower back pain.
NHS (National Health Service) couldn’t help with any of these problems although physiotherapy did put me in touch with an exercise regime (yoga) which has been quite beneficial and fun.
When I first went to Chiropractic Life, I was clutching at straws for an improvement in my general health and was somewhat sceptical about the idea.
My first visit was in late September 2008 – just over six months ago where I met a very friendly receptionist, who immediately made me feel at home and this friendly approach continued throughout the whole practice.
My Chiropractor is Helen Martin who is very pleasant and seems to have the knack of finding the weak spots.
I had come this far, so decided to have a course of twelve sessions at twice per week. Within two weeks I noticed a very pronounced improvement in my balance – later I found my back pain was almost – “what back pain” – so much better, and pins and needles in my right hand disappeared, and it is vastly better on the left hand. My posture is also very much improved.
Helen never said she would get me walking again but did say she felt she could improve my quality of life and she has certainly delivered on that – within six months.
My advice to anyone considering chiropractic care is be positive, tell yourself it will help you and have confidence in your chiropractor, after all, life is for living and unless you give it a go, you will never know.
